The vertebrate is formed by back bone and spinal cord. The vertebrate is separated by jelly like disc to provide cushion and flexibility. The nerves run through the spinal cord. If patients suffered from truma, it would lead to rutured disc and create a pressure on the nerve and leading to pain.
