Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy in Africa 2.wmv

8 July 2011

This video is about cervical myelopathy or arthritis in the neck. Steroids and pain killers are not effective treatment for this condition. Moderate or severe arthritis need to be operated before full paralysis occurs. We can perform the operations safely and effectively in Nigeria, but importantly, patients need to be referred early.

Cervical radiculopathy usually presents as pain in the neck radiating into the shoulder and arm as the result of nerve root compression. What causes this condition? How is it best treated? How does it differ from cervical myelopathy? Please also see our video on Cervical Myelopathy at www.youtube.com Like this video? Don’t forget to rate it and leave a comment. This is really impressive, hopefully it reach wide patients coverage. However; the field of view is so limited, the video details of the operation is not so apparent. Sir, more power to your elbow. Dr Adebayo.

  2. Good work Doctor .
