When someone leave an irresponsible mesage about medications i have to get in my 2 cents worth. Psoriatic arthritis occurs in about 5% of patients who have psoriasis. Risk is higher in patients who have a family history of psoriatic arthritis or “pitting” of the fingernails. Patients range in age from 30 to 60. Men and women appear to be affected in equal numbers. However, when psoriatic arthritis involves the spine, men generally tend to be affected about twice as often as women. Five common variants of this disease are seen:. The most common is an asymmetric inflammatory arthritis that affects small and large joints. Swelling of fingers and toes (sausage digits) are seen. I have this. A second variant that affects the last row of finger joints (DIP joints) is commonly associated with pitting of the nails. I also have this. The third variant looks like rheumatoid arthritis. It is symmetric but patients often are negative for rheumatoid factor in the blood. Same again. Spondylitis or inflammation of the spine, the fourth type, is seen in 20% of patients with psoriatic arthritis. About half of these patients will have the genetic marker, HLA-B27. Hello,:))+thanks .I’m a 43 yr old woman+I started to lose my sight 18yrs ago,repeated attacks of irritis inflamm of iris+ scleritis in the white of the eye 138 attacks in 18yrs.Lost 70% vision in left eye.My lower spine I was screaming with pain. told I was HLAB27 pos on DMARDS ,DF118′s ,EVERY antinflam.steroids you name it.It took 14 YEARS to be diag with AS with Crohns/Bechet advanced stage 14YRS! Have you tried Anti Tnf drugs?Only thing thats given any pain relief+Oxycontin. Sophie

I have that battle with myself about taking my meds because I don’t want to become addicted but I can’t get out of bed without medicine! I understand completely what it is like to have so many changes in your health sometimes minute by minute, We are the same even though we have different challenges. @WhistlersBrother UK law states it is an offence unless a licence is issued by the Home Office. These licences are rarely granted & reserved for advanced scientific research only although there have been trials done with the use of medical marijuana. My take on this is issue is this, i’d rather smoke a splif than drop a ton of pills and think it’s time the law was relaxed for people with pain issues. H&R as always Bro

I wonder if medical marijuana would help you with your condition? It is legal here in California and from everyone I’ve ever talked to who uses it medicinally, they say it is the most effective medicine they have ever used–much more so than any pills–and it is much less toxic, and very non-addictive compared to most pills. I don’t know if it’s legal there though, in the UK.

People can be so ignorant some times my brother, I was dependant on drugs for years, my problem was I didn’t need them. The last thing I would have wanted to see 12 years ago would be where to get them.
